There is a bright red color on the summit of Mount Agung

Head of the Volcano Mitigation Division of Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), I Gede Suantika confirmed the presence of a bright red color at the peak of Mount Agung whose information he got through photos from residents.

"Hopefully not hoax this photo," said Gede when contacted on Saturday (25/11/2017).

He has not dared to confirm whether the red color is lit at the peak of Mount Agung is lava or not. Possibly, it could be that lava spewed by a mountain as high as 3114 meters above sea level.

Currently, Gede admits that he is still analyzing it. "Yes, while we are still analyzing it, we can get a pretty good picture from the residents, we are still analyzing it, it could be lava, we will release the results, we analyze first," he said.

This afternoon at 17:20 Wita Gunung Agung erupted. The eruption was accompanied by a cloud of smoke as high as 1.5 kilometers. Volcanic ash was spewed mountain as high as 3114 meters above sea level.

Several hours later at 19.00 Wita Gunung Agung erupted again.
