cheat in Bali, Dozens of Chinese Arrested by Police


SinarRakyat.Com | Dozens of foreign nationals (WNA) from China are again raided at three crime scene (TKP) in Bali. They are suspected of being involved in a syndicate of cross-country fraud cases.

The joint team of Police Headquarters and Regional Police (Polda) Bali examined three crime scenes, namely Jalan Tukad Badung XXI Denpasar, Jalan Villa Sahadewa Kompleks Pecatu Indah Resort, and Jalan Darmawangsa Gang Kutuh II Number IX in South Kuta.

Head of Bali Police Public Relations Division, AKBP Hengky Widjaja confirmed the arrest.

"True, the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) is catching a case of fraud by Chinese foreigners and is still ongoing," Hengky told Republika on Thursday (11/1).

Hengky explained the number of perpetrators who secured has reached 49 people. Twelve of them are women. The number is likely to continue to grow.

"We have been communicating with the Chinese Police to pick up Tomorrow afternoon (Friday) we plan to hold a press conference with Bali Police Chief," added Hengky.

Officials raided dozens of Chinese foreigners at around 09.00 WITA. The media crew found out about the case later in the day when the investigation took place at the scene.

The perpetrators are still being interrogated while the authorities secure the evidence. The foreign nationals allegedly committed online fraud from Bali. They rented a number of luxury homes as headquarters while carrying out their actions.

One of the illegal acts committed is to blackmail a number of officials in his home country by claiming to be a police or prosecutor. This case is still being developed in the field.

Similar cases also occurred in Bali around July 2017. The Task Unit (Satgas) of Merah Putih in cooperation with Satgas Counter Transnational Organize Crime (CTOC) and Ditreskrimsus Polda Bali raided a villa on Jalan Puri Bendesa, Banjar Mumbul, South Kuta.

Officers secured 27 foreigners, comprising 17 Chinese and 10 Taiwanese foreigners. The police also secured four Indonesian Citizens (WNI) of cyber criminals.

Taskforce team also raided the house on Jalan Kutat Lestari Sanur which allegedly as the home giver of the perpetrators to run the action of fraud. Chinese police directly conduct crime scene. All suspects were then flown to Police Headquarters via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The whole process of the case was handed over to the Chinese Police, including when the deportation took place. These dozens of foreigners are also involved in a series of phone fraud and extortion cases that harm Chinese and Taiwanese foreigners.
